I bought a 1997 ka2 as my first car not long ago, but this morning i couldn't unlock the drivers side door and the central locking from the passengers side doesnt unlock the drivers side either, it unlocks fine from inside. The key on the drivers side goes in about a half an inch deeper than on the passengers side and a whirring noise can be heard when locking and unlocking the passenger side, is this normal?
Are these common problems?
Are they easy to fix as i dont really have to spend money taking it to a garage to be fixed?
Any help will be very much appreciated.

You need to separate the lock from the latch (inside the door) to see what has stopped working. This isn't a nice job and damage to the door skin can ensue if care isn't taken. Maybe best left to the pros.
