hi,

i have an 03 ka, had it since new. just coming up to four years old now and 90k miles.

about a year ago, when i was gettin two new front tyres, the tyre people couldnt hardly get my wheel nuts back on, because the edges of the nuts (next the wheel) had all got belled out. About 1/4 of them was just worn away! all nuts, both wheels!

plus to make things worse, they completely wrecked one of the bolts coming from the hub trying to get them on.

i changed them a few days later with a new set

but now i see that they have started to go again! please does anyone know what could be causing this, i dont think i have over or under tightened them.

are they alloy nuts on steel wheels as this can wreck the nuts

naw, they are steel nuts, steel wheels!
i dread taking them off at the minute in case i cant get them back on, and ive just broke my new droplink :(

sounds like you may be having them over tightened get ya manual out and check the torque setting for them and buy a cheap torque wrench (£10) then ya know how tight they should be
