need advice on fitting new speakers (02 mk6 fiesta)

hi, new to the forum, new to driving (6 months) and new to pretty much anything to do with cars.

my front drivers side speaker has been playing up lately so i had the door card off today to have a look at it, can't see anything wrong with it but it's still not great.. a bit tinny sounding, crackles and cuts out from time to time.

i was thinking about just buying new speakers altogether for a better sound, don't get me wrong i'm not into subs and other mods like that, i just appreciate a good sound. i was wondering if there was anything i need to consider first.. i know they are 5x7's but will any that size fit straight into the hole, do i need a different connector or is it universal and can i just replace the front ones and not worry about the back etc..?

thanks in advance, mike

If you go to any good car audio centre , ICE shop they will advise you and supply you with what you need to suit your requirements .

Any half skilled installer can fit a replacement 5x7 speaker for you, even if it doesn't exactly line up eg. they could make a spacer if the magnet is too deep.

Yes, the front speakers are far more important than the rears, so no need to replace the rears.
