But of course worried about insurance!

I'm looking to get either of these:

They seem like a good run for their price, I'm just worried about insurance.

How much is it to insure one of these babies? Could I get a better car for less?

i dont know about better cars, as i love fiestas the xr2i will be alot quicker but will kill you on insurance i suggest the 1.4 or if u want something a little quicker look for a 1.6 zetec-s or si fiesta, i dont like going for french cars but if u wanted something a little quicker have a look at saxo vtr's.

Do you have any idea how much insurance will be in rough figures? I'm about to turn 17, and MAY do it on my mums/dads insurance but may not as no claims will bite me.

Well, i am 18 now and have been on my step dads insurance since 17. i had a 1.8 16v ford escort which cost me 700 fully comp a year on his insurance, with no no claims. now i have a mk6 2003 ford fiesta 1.6 zetec-s which i bought for 8000, and still only costs me 800 per year on his insurance, on my own its 1500, thats with pass pluss advanced driving which costs 150 quid, without that my insurance would be about 2000 per year if i was on my own policy. i believe saxos are around the same group as mine so u will probably be looking at around 1000 on your parents insurance, dependant on cirsumstances. if u want any more info email me at mazz2kcool@hotmail.com.
