Ford needs it now.& the focus & new mondeo together with the AV I think these could give Ford a huge image & sales turnaround

Unfortunately the AV soaked up a heap of cash that could have gone to all those products mentioned. However I'm almost 100% confident that the Fiesta & Focus will be coming.

thing is, the barina and fiesta are competitors in Uk / europe, as are the astra and focus, and the vectra and mondeo.

if h#*den can bring the cars in, then why not ford. true, our $ is not great, but if the product is any good, then they will sell.

points about the mondeo not selling here are relevant too. the thing was originally targetted at camry, but is considerably smaller, and no way near as refined. the original tyres copped a lot of flack, and i can vouch for the noise. i honestly thought the rear wheel bearings were shot. but it was simply tyre noise.

trouble is, the mondeo is not a bad car to drive, and a damn sight more interesting to look at that a camry (but then so is a block of wood). it was just not right for oz.

also agree with rastus. if ford is become #1, then it cant be based entirely on one product. no matter how good it is. to offer a complete product package, then ford needs to cover bases other than the family car market. why have tickford otherwise?

The difference in policy between GMH & Ford over their European imports is simple - "Export Credits".
GMH has bags of them curtosy of engine exports & vehicle exports; Ford has bugger all!!
This situation is being addressed but we are along way behind.

Can somebody tell me how many Festiva's Ford was selling a month. Just so I know how many sales have been lost by the demise of Fords affordable small car.

Ford sold around 10,000 Festivas in their last year, they sold many more in previous years though.
