Hi,

I have a very stupid question for a stupid situation.

Where is the bonnet release catch on a Ka? I need to check the oil, etc on my elderly fathers car, but he's lost the manual and i can't seem to find the catch. Someone did tell me it was under the steering column, but all i could find was a red "lever" which didn't do anything when pulled.

Sorry for posting this minor question, but i have tried various search engines and had no joy and don't really want to go ask a dealer.

If it makes a difference, it is an 03 reg, basic version.

That red lever should in fact be the bonnet release. I had an older fiesta and it was exactly the same. Make sure u pull it down hard enough though, really give it a tug downwards. If that doesn't work, it may be situated around the passenger foot well. But if still no luck then the actual red lever may be broken and in that case contacting a dealer is no bad thing.
