Re: Problem with my fiesta mk4 (stalls and nearly stalls etc)

Yipee! The Fiesta is now working fine. Nothing to do with Marks modification. (Thanks anyway Mark. ) I decided to go through my checklist again. I had bought new spark plugs a few months earlier. Prior to fitting the new plugs I had not checked the electode gap. I decided to check the electode gaps and found that they were all near 0.7mm. On the 1.3 engine the gap is supposed to be around 1.1mm. I made the adjustments and the car has not misfired or cut out once. The fuel economy has also improved dramatically.

Hi Backlash1,

Would you still have the bypass diagram as discussed above.
It seems to be my best option.

Thanks,
Brendan

Re: Problem with my fiesta mk4 (stalls and nearly stalls etc)

hi, i have a fiesta 1.3 efi and had the same problems, which i had done everything, the idle valve, plugs-leads, tappets everything and still to no avail! till i took off the air pipe to the throtle valve, i found that the butterfly vv was so dirty that it was that making it stall or go to stall, used a full can of carb cleaner! first soaked the butterfly and left for 5 mins, then with the engine running reved her up while spraying inside the butterfly, you should have seen the s--t come off the plate! refitted the pipe and took it for a drive, instant improvement! and it dont stall or go to stall now ether! as some 1 told me, with all this efi bolux there is still 4 pistons in a block going up and down in there, good luck!
