Hi peeps

I'm a newbie to this forum.

Have a 2000 fiesta 1.3 and when slowing down say at traffic lights I put the clutch in and begin to brake. The revs stay high when slowing down even with the clutch fully in. The revs stay high also when changing gear.

Is this something to do with the idling valve sticking?

Hope someone can help

G'day, my girlfriends car also had this problem over summer and thought it had something to do with the engine temp as it has now dissapeared coming into winter. She also had a service and told the mechanic but i never found out what the problem was.....it stopped after the service....

check all your hoses on the inlet manifold you more than likely have got a vacuum leak

Well my girlfriends car is still having this problem. It is random when it happens. I noticed it the other night, so it wasn't hot. and she says it still revs while changing gears. so if there was a loose hose causing a vacuume leak, wouldnt it be happening all the time not randomly??

Hey everyone,
Our cars run with electronic throttle control.
I have noticed a few funny things with it, as i guess the technology isnt completely perfected yet.
when the car is idling and you press the accelerator it takes a fraction of a second to realise the pedal has moved. same goes when taking foot off the accelerator sometimes.

Its just the way it is.
what i find helps is going to ford and getting an ecu reflash with the latest software.
