trip computer plus loads of other gauges & ECU error code reader for your mk4 fiesta

Ive always wanted a trip computer on a car and none of the cars ive owned have had one, when i got the fiesta i had a bit of a search to see if those were ever added to any of the mk4 fiesta range and from what i found the answer looks like NO. so i had a search on ebay and found this Find ScanGauge II OBD 2 Scanner Tool Trip Digital xgauge on eBay within, Diagnostic Tools Equipment, Garage Equipment Tools, Cars, Parts Vehicles (end time 15-Nov-07 21:15:02 GMT)
i emailed the seller and asked if this would work on my 98 s reg fiesta MK4 with a EEC V ECU and he replied saying no this wont work with my car, so done more searching on the net and i was 99% sure it would work on my car so i brought one.
The thing turned up the other day in the post and it works fine!

Ive only tested driving the car around the block a few times cos the fiesta has been parked miles away due to me taking another car home cos i have been working away the past few days.

It does seam to have loads of gauges on it tho not just fuel related stuff some of the once i liked were digital speedo, rev counter, volt meter and coolant temp i think could be useful. Also can view error codes from your ECU.

So if your like me and like gizmo's to play with in the car or just want a trip computer and you got a mk4 fiesta and it must have a EEC V ECU this is on the sticker thats on the connector of the ECU im sure i read on the net some where that all zetec engine fiestas have EEC V ECU but do check.
If your ECU is a EEC IV it will NOT work.

if i can find a place to fit the thing in the dash over the weekend i will take a few pics or may be some video of the thing in action

Not sure but on the digital dial mk4's if you turn the ignition one turn, hold in the trip counter button then star the engine while still holdin it it then brings up digital rev counter, digital speedo, engine temp and loads of other stuff, also a trip computer like you specified. pretty cool,

to skip therough the display of feature you just keep pressing the button

my fiesta has the old fashioned speedo with out the display but i would have upgraded to the instrument cluster with the display if i had know that.
