Carb ?? Maybe needle and seat ??
First you have to decifer weather its fuel or spark thats your trouble? First pull a spark plug lead and crank it over holding end close to an earth.[away from fuel]..
With air cleaner off look down carb and open throttle, there should be a squart of fuel into ventury- carb.. If not you could pour some fuel down there table spoon iff it starts for short period... Thats your problem. Either fuel pump, fuel filter, water etc in fuel..If efi check fuel pump, sensers and relays, connections, fuses..
Then if it still doesn't go check that you have compression, as you turn it over either buy hand or key at some stages it should be harder to turn..Then look for things like inlet leaks, broken vacuum lines etc..
You said it had carb then you said map... I guess it's a throttle body efi?? The above still basically applies
