8 sec for a v8??
That cant be rignt, my 3.9 got up to 100 in 8 sec when it was an auto! haven't timed it yet since the manual, but prolly 6 or 7 sec I think....

I agree.

Weren't the 6 cylinder falcons with 345 gears quicker to 100 than the 8, but the 8 ate them up as it streched its legs over the quater?
If this is the case, what should a 4l auto with 345 gears pull 0-100 in?
as for the 3.9l pulling 8 secs, i think that is a bit unlikely...my mate has a ea s (still very young with 90k on the clock) and he did the quater in 17.88s @ 127kph (i think it was 127 anyway) using a g tech. admitedly though he has his gf and big system in the car too...

he was meaning that maybe 6 sec. for a v8, not his 6cyl...
From what I read, I thought he ment his 6cly would now do 6 or 7sec since the manual has been installed. Anyway, yes as hot_EB said, the XR6's were quicker to 100 by about .2sec from memory as well as down the quarter mile in stock form. Once the 8 got an exhaust, in particular some extractors, it was another story.
Yeh I meant the v8, but will test my 6 soon - the manual feels a hell of a lot quicker than the auto, should tak at least 3/4 second off the 0-100 time.
