1/4 mile time

I know this has been brought up before but have any of youse tested your times since then?
I did a test as accurately as I could using my stopwatch and my odometer. I did the run out of the toll gates on the M4 - flat, straight road apart from merging lanes.

I stopped the clock -just- after the odometer hit 400m and I got 16.7 secs which is a lot better than I thought it would be.

re.

Gee thatís a pretty sweet time, considering the weight of your beast. I reckon when my car was stock it would have struggled to do a time like that.

I have been thinking about setting up a little 1/4 mile strip near my house. Mark out some lines and get a few people to help out with the timing.
There are heaps of deserted roads around here... hmmm.. might give it a go one day.

Just a question, do you remember how quick you were going when you hit the 400m mark?
roughly?

Cheers.

Re: re.

I remember I was doing over 120km/h but under 130 which seems pretty slow so i've just flicked through some of my mags for a comparison and found a Peugeot 406 Coupe which does 17.6 @ 129km/h so that brings it back in line a little.
Though i'm planning on doing something similar to what you mentioned...actually marking out some distances rather than relying on my odometer.

Re: re.

we should have a meet one day out on some deserted straight rd, where the cops won't hassle/find you and set up some witches hats etc and do some runs. As long as it's safe.

Re: hmm wouldn't b 2 sure

hmm... I'll come and watch but won't run my EA. Not with the running gear it has at the moment anyway. lol. When I have a new engine and 4 speed setup in my car then I may give it a go. For anyone that is willing to challenge me, be ready to have your ass handed to you...

One race, 2g buy in, winner takes all... *Kenaz - wait, hold up, I don't have any cash, but I do have the pink slips to my EA*

I would love to see a scene like the Fast and the Furious but with EAs, EBs, and EDs in place of Eclipses, Civics and RX7s.

I to agree the is PLENTY of tough EAs that would give an xr6 a very good run for its money , by the way I race for fun not money ,EA90 I like XR6s to , but there are some pretty mean EAs running around .

some organized drag racing would be a hoot though.

just dont name the place on line , cause pigs can read
