Adam Hargrave reset the record for the quickest BA Falcon on Saturday night at Heathcote Park. Competing at the Ford Forum Club Night, Adam ran consistent 10.30s for a best pass of 10.20/135. Amazing this car still retains a stock turbo and manifold and looks set to go quicker yet.
Jason Ghiller’s 4.0 powered XE ESP also made a welcome return to the track. The Falcon was driven to the track and raced in full street trim (street radial tyres and LPG fuel) for a best of 10.56/130. The car is powered by a Garrett GT42R turbo with custom manifolding and is arguably the cleanest engine bay we’ve ever seen on a street driven car! The car unfortunately snapped the input shaft late in the night due to the engine’s huge torque band. Expect to see the ESP back at the track shortly.
Another quick turbo six was the Mike’s Dyno Tuning EA. Driven by Tim Jetson, the Falcon ran an off the trailer pass of 10.77/128 whilst performing a big burnout. The guys also suffered an unfortunate driveline breakage with the tail shaft letting go on their second pass.
Karmen’s Gtech powered BA also ran well into the high 11-second region. The tiger mica gold VT Commodore ran a solid 12.1/120 utilising a GT40 turbo on just 7psi through an unopened engine and transmission.
pretty amazing a BA, weighs 1.7tonnes, using stock internals + t4 and manifold can run a 10 second pass!! utterly amazing, dont know of any factory car that can do that!!
