hope not a repost.
Just reading in the 2005 JAN street machine. They have a few words on a CAPA BOSS engine going for 1000hp at the rear wheels.

Both cars will run Vortech V7 YSI blowers, with the XR8 running a water-to-air intercooler

Sounds very interesting. I guess we will have to wait a while to see. They have some small pics in the mag but am at work now so i don't have a scanner near me.

i think thats the engine that was imported from USA. Capa did have a monster modular engine at this years Holden vs Ford show...not sure if it even got fired up..
street twuner is the Capa man, maybe he can tell us a little more about it..
I saw the crewman at Springnats in November and it was pretty impressive. The announcer said it had just been tuned and dynoed putting out 900 and something horsepower. Robbie the donut king stunt rider was doing full drifts/fishtails of the entire DECA concrete pad end to end on 18's... Looked pretty impressive to see that huge crewman tearing it up....

Anyone notice that both cars will be making similar power but the LS1 will need 409ci, where as the ford still keeps 330. 79ci is a big difference in displacement.

these cars make plenty on the dyno, but dont do a lot on the track, they are purpose built dyno queens.
AT 2 ton and that power 713rwkw it should run a 7.9 do think it will?

Never, it probally cost them $15,ooo for that 5.4L setup (Complete). Consider they would have paid bugger all for the s/c setup and really only materials and labour. Now imagine how much it'd cost to build a driveline capable of taking that power on a drag strip, i would imagine they run nearly stock driveline's in both cars but are very carefull about the way they drive them. Ie no redline clutch dumps.

Just the thing for winning dyno comps, but how reliable (or necessary) it is for the street. Some Holden or other blew its guts at Sydney Holden vs Ford show after 606 HP. I think it won its category!

totally unrealiable for the street...but
You could say the same thing about drag racing...... how many street drives dont have corners? lol
I am a big fan of both. careful the smoke dont haze your judgement...
