Hi, sounds like a good buy. As for some of your questions, depending on where you drive and how you drive it fuel consumption is about 17mp/g well thats what im getting out of my XY wagon. Granted it doesnt have the 2v head, but anyway. I've read that the 250's w/ 2v head give about 170hp (126kw)

What's the V6 about?

Good luck with it.

The 2V head was rated at 170hp in stock trim but with the way the head is designed for good power you tend to drive a 2V head hard, especially if you have a 350 holley on it, which isn't good for economy, but your right there isn't much info on these motor's,I've looked on the web everywhere and I havn't seen much.

Re: 1969 XT Falcon, 250 2V Engine, Need Advice...

Thanks for the help so far guys!

The V6 is cos i made a spelling mistake, lol, 6 cyl. sorry. haha.
The good price is AU$4000.00

Basically my main concern is that i dont want to get it if its gonna just drain feul, i know its not an economical car, im not expecting that, but i dont want to be surprised if you know what i mean, cos thatl be too late. Anyone else got any help at all?

Ok, just did some calculations,

The feul consumption is 13L/100KM.
The feul tank holds 72L, i think i rememer finding that on the net somewhere.
So a tank of petrol should go for about 550KM.
And to fill up my tank would cost arround AU$60.00

Doesnt sound too bad, what do u guys reckon? I also only really travel on main roads, dont live right in the city.

Yeah buddy i had one of these in my Xw but i did a bit of work to it, and all i can say is buy it. You're not going to get 550km out of a tank but its not going to much different to any other 6 cyl in standard form and with a top loader behind it you'll be in for some fun. The difference between the 2v and the standard is the inlet manifold is seperate from the head, they're great motors and with a bit of work they'll beat V8's.
