this morning got in to the xr and went to start it
it was cranking everything then the bat light goes on so ok give ford a buzz and within 2 min a racv guy rocks up and said oh let me gess will not start you are me 3rd this morning for this problem, so he just sat the and just keep cranking it over for about 1 min and then all this black smoke and shit and god knows what else out the pipe then it was running, back firing smoke everything so i let it warm up and give it a reall hard run and now it seems alright just not looking forward to 2mro morning
any other BA owners that have had this problem, the racv guy said it was flooded

Flooded? Don't think so, not in a modern car I would have thought.. ECU would have to be pretty stupid to let that happen. Although it has the same sypmtoms and simular solution..

VCT unit maybe.. there have been starting issues before with the six..

Flooding doesnt sound likely, i didnt think it was actually possible to flood any late model falcon as such? Could be wrong (have been once or twice before ).

It does sound odd - how old is it? Ive heard of a few guys having trouble with them in the days after they first drive them out of the showroom, cos sometimes they're a bit clogged up etc.
And if it was flooded, why would the battery light come on?
