I'm hoping to replace the near stock 221 in my XP for a 250 crossflow and four speed from an XF. Has anyone on here done the swap in an early falcon? Will it line up with the standard engine mounts and fit easily into the engine bay? I intend on using an XD-F radiator and electronic ignition as well. Anyone got any tips of things I should look out for / do to make it easier. Thanks for your help.

Had similar setup in my XP wagon for a while (till the junkyard engine died). Can use original XP engine mounts & most of the wiring is pretty similar if I remember. I had a 3-sp manual behind mine (wanted to keep the column shift) and had to make a custom attachment for the g'box mount. And play around with the tailshaft. Otherwise, not a big job. Motor is a little longer at the front than XP motor so had to run an electric fan on the front of the radiator behind the grille. Still using same fan, you can't see it thru grill unless you're staring.

should just slot in most x-flows use cable throttles and as i remember most/all early x series are linkage
