3 easy steps to reduce or even stop tapper noise!!
Step1- Go to Supercheap and buy 5l Castrol GTX2 20W/50 oil and filter for $30. Also pickup some Redex, Wynn's or Nulon Engine flush 500ml bottle for $10, sump plug washer pack $4 and a 500ml bottle of Wynn's Tune Up or Nulon Lifter Free for $10.
Step2- While in carpark at supercheap, pop the bonnet and add the engine flush to your oil and then drive home.
Step3- Once home, park car up and drain oil for 2hrs into a container then remove old oil filter. Now install new oil filter, sump plug with new washer and add 5l of Castrol GTX2. Now add the lifter free additive to your oil, start car and let engine run at idle. You will be suprised as in about 5-10 secs you will never hear lifter noise again and your oil pressure should read a little higher.
Cheers Luke.

Re: 3 easy steps to reduce or even stop tapper noise!!
Hi Guys,
The engine flush instructions says idle for 10-15min or drive no further than 160km without an oil change.
The washer pack for the sump plug are those cork washers you put on your sump plug bolt to stop those annoying oil leaks around the plug and to prevent overtightening of the bolt.
Cheers Luke.

Mine are terrible.... I hate them heaps. I drove from work to home about 10 minutes ago, and when i got home after driving about 4 kays, the lifters were still tapping off their tits.....
Sometimes they do and sometimes they dont, its erratic thats the annoying thing. I'd love to get them changed, then my car will be perfect..... Even better than Yaggys XR8.....
