how ya goin?

just interested in what sorta kms u getting out of 351's and 302's i have a 250x flow and im over it and want a v8! i can get 550kms out or my carby xe but im not buying a v8 for econemy!

well my XB with a mild 351 gets between 14 and 20 miles per gallon if i am lucky... ( sorry, between 15 and 20 litres per 100 km). but my BA XR8 can use as little as 10L per 100km on a trip. it goes faster, is much more comfortable and is obviously much more efficient user of fuel.
i have had haeps of 351 powered fords over the years and all have used similar amounts of fuel. a doubt a 302 would use much less as it would be working a bit harder to do the same speed so it would negate any benifit from the smaller capacity. ( it weighs the same and is the same external dimensions).... for a clevo anyway.
my ltd used to get around 400 km per tank on a good day.

The old man had a stock XA 302 Fairmont which he reckoned was always good for 25mpg (lived in the country)... he was a bit peeved that he traded it for an XD alloy head 250 which would do 21-22mpg regardless of how you drove it.

mate if you have to ask how much fuel a 351 uses-dude you cant afford it.buy one and try keeping your right foot off the floor!
