Hi all

I want to fit a 350 holley to my xf. Several people had said its easy and several have said it cant be done as its an auto.

I have a few questions

I can buy a linkage kit from redline for the throttle. Will this also mount the kickdown cable?

Am I better of with and adapter plate or a new manifold?

Do I still use all the factory cables ( kickdown & accelerator)

If anyone has some pics of how the kickdown mounts that would be great, as they guys at auto bahn said they think it just mounts to the linkage kit somewhere.

I know it can be done but Im getting too many stupid answers from the people I know.

Any help would be great....................

Probably not the answer you're looking for, but what's wrong with the original weber carb?
Cops will ream you big time if they pop the bonnet and see a Holley on an XF.
The original carb is quite good, and can be rejetted if you have a non standard cam etc.

[the weber is alright. Had a full recond one put on but im still getting shit economy. 300km out of a full tank 78litres

I had been told by a few people that the holley would be a bit better economy wise as long as I didnt floor the pedal

I'd be looking for other causes for your bad fuel econ then, because if you've got a recoed one on there now and that didn't help, then swapping it for a Holly probably won't fix the problem, if anything it stands a good chance of making it worse.

Have you had the EGR system checked out to ensure it's working correctly, for example? Also if it's got a catalytic converter and that's fallen apart on the inside, it will be creating a huge exhaust restriction, causing the engine to use more power (and therefore more fuel) to push the exhuast gases out.

There are a few other things, but yeah, I'd be looking elsewhere if your webber has been recoed.

The weber is better on fuel than the holley so I don't know what's wrong with yours then? The weber cruises on 1barrel then opens the second barrel when you give it some. Holley 350 and 500 open both barrels simultaniously so can be worse on fuel. Execption to this is the 500progressive secondary (rarer) in terms of not too shabby fuel use this carb is great as it works just like the weber only it flows 56% more airflow 500cfm vs 320cfm! Mind you the weber is a great little carb and can flow up to around 134rwkw/180rwhp on a 250xflow if everything else is optimised! I've got 145rwhp out of the weber so far and it is still giving me 385kms for 55L of mixed driving style.
