yesterday my old man picked up his new car.. BA XR8 sedan after a 15week wait.

in the showroom when he went to start the car it would turn over.. so they had to jump start the car, that laster about 20seconds and then it died.
so out comes a new battery and it turns over!

he drives home, i take a quick look before heading off too a job.. looks awesome! blueprint, auto, roof, premium sound, sports wheel.. nice job!
one thing.. the roof doesnt close and it opens by its self! not good.

so the oldies take off for a drive to Bendigo, by this time, the car is about an hour old..

they hit the Kyenton (think thats how you spell it) and the indicators go on, the fuel light come on and the A/C goes off.. strange

a few seconds down the road and the car looses ABS and then finally it had a stalling affect before he lost power steering.

dad manages to pull over and call the dealer.. 3 hours old.

wouldnt start, nothing.

he dealer sends out his car and a tow truck to get the car back to werribee for further inspection.

so, all in all, we have an XR8 ute that goes, and a sedan that doesnt.

the dealer thinks it might be the computer..

any ideas??

That's no good mate, I hope they find the cause and fast,sound's electrical or computer to me.I was coming back from Melbourne today on the calder, didnt see you oldie's car though.

Thats a huge shame about the car.. i really hope the sort it out soon.

Hope all works out, I had a similar prob, couldn't start the car in Park. Turned out to be a tiny adjustment and all was well.

Not good news Teza. I'm sure your friendly Ford dealer will have it fixed in no time.

Teza. Mine had the same problem. check under the fuse cover there should be a seperate loom pluged into the fuse box.I found mine still taped to the main loom goes to the fuse box.This is used to power up the alternator.I hope this is some help.
