Wheels mag gave a good write up on the new 6spd auto BFxr6. Holden got 2 1/2 stars thats Soooo funny.

xr6 0-100 got a 7.4sec
1/4 mile 15.3

BUt the turbo still only got a 6.2sec 0-100
xr8 a laughable 6.4sec
both with new 6spd auto, but they did say the track was slippery.

thats pretty shocking mate...i dont wana brag about the xr8 again but what can you do its just too damn heavy!

The BF XR8 and XR6T will be quicker, much quicker but the track was terrible on the day at Wheels own admission. The XR6 was actually tested separately I believe with the VRX and SV6.

I thought the xr6 may have done slightly better as well, maybe a 7-7.2sec 0-100 with all that extra torque down low and more power and 6 speed auto, as they clocked the BA xt doing a 7.3sec 0-100 a couple of years ago. But it is the first test and probably a low ks engine as well and tests done in hotter weather will help with traction. But very happy with that out come.
Great to see all the refinement on the car from the reduction of noise, improvement on the drivetrain, reducing viberation, and improving on the engine. I still cant beleive they got the peak engine torque down to 2500rpm WOW. Hopefully build quality is there as well.

THat's pretty bad about the XR8, oh well..... It's just way to heavy just like someone else on this thread said... I've always been a fan of the turbo newayz (well a fan of forced induction all the way lol)

SO pissed that i missed out on the launch show of the BF here in Adelaide (damn work i can;t get it off!!) Grrr

How the hell can you boof heads make bad comments about the 1/4 and 0-100 times for the new BF, It has been said the the track was SLIPERY. Bloody hell, wake up.

Pity that Ford couldn't fit the 6-speed auto to more of the range - unless you tick the box, the XR6 will still come with a stone-age 4-speed. But hey, you CAN get the 6-speed manual now.

I've done nearly 30,000 ks in my XR6 now, and I still really enjoy driving it. I'd love the turbo, but the std engine has enough power for "normal" driving and has heaps of torque at low revs compared to most modern engines.

So really good to see that Wheels has recognised what a great car it is - I can only imagine the difference the 6-speed auto makes.
