I Just Bought A Xc Fairmont And Its Still Got The Original 4.1 In Her. I Reconditioned The Head But I Wanna Squeaze As Much Power Out Of The Engine As Possible.if Anyone Can Tell Me Wat They Have Done To There 4.1 Or If U Hav Any Good Ideas Please Write Them Down.

I remember my mates cortina had the 4.1 in her and he replaced the stock carb with a 350 holley, this thing went nuts!

A decent set of extractors and either:

1x 2.5" exhaust or
2x 2" exhaust

465 holley, cam, c.o.m.e racing head, exhaust and mini spool

alloy head with weber(off an xe-f)elec dissy from xe-f set of extractors and a 2 1/4 system.change the cam.any more money spent would be a waste put a clevo in.

Thanks for the ideas fellas. i've already ordered the extractors. Gettin pacemaker 2 1/2". Change the cams u rekon. got any ideas on who would make suitable cams to fit her.

all cam manufacturers will make acam for it.go for a cam dynamics or powermax.not to deer.change the lifters as well seeing as though you would have to pull them out or at least lift them up to change the cam.dont get too much overlap cos oversquare engines dont like it.just ask for a stage 2
