I've just ordered my Mercury Silver XR6 NA with premium sound. I still need to confirm the order details with the dealer which will happen early next week. I'm not sure which trim will go best with the Mercury. The dealer says that it comes with grey but that I can have red if I want it. I know it says that it comes standard with red in the brochure but my dealer says it will come in grey unless I specify red. Unfortunately they have no cars in stock with the red trim so I'm wondering if anyone with (or who has seen) the red trim can offer me advice? I did finally get to see the XR steering wheel and the standard 17's. They both look great. I think the 18's and sport wheel are nice but aren't must-haves.
For what it's worth, I looked at the cloth trim for my XR6T before buying leather. I thought the red gave the interior a bit of a "lift" compared with the grey and that's the way I would've gone.
Had to decide on the red-edged vs grey-edged mats and, again, the red won out, especially because of the red XR on the leather seats.
The Mercury silver is a somewhat "cold" colour (but is the best of the current colours and "grows" on you). I think injecting a little brightness into the interior with a bit of red is the way to go!

Disclaimer: I have been told I'm colourblind. However Mrs zeke arees with the above recommendations. On the other hand, if her XT wasn't venom, she wouldn't have accepted it!
It was after much deliberation that I settled on Mercury. The Hero colours had initial impact but I tired of them quickly. Thanks for the recommendation on the trim. It'd hard to look at the grey and visualise the red...wish I could see it before I make the choice,

My boss has a Monaro, it's silver and when he ordered it he ticked the box for black interior,but when it arrived it had red interior and I must say, It look's real classy,I would go for red trim,you wont be disapointed.
