arm rests

I've finally got most of the interior back to original condition. Saddlebrown.. standard as anything, but looks great. The last few things to get done is the steering wheel and the 4 arm rests. I have a qoute for $96 each + GST for the arms rests, and that seems a little steep. Not sure about the steering wheel yet. Anyone got any thoughts? or even better, some spares in excellent nic? :-P

ps As soon as I can borrow a camera, I'll take some piccies and post.

Re: arm rests

$96 each??! your being arse raped. I'm redoing my interior in black and i paid $40 each for rear coupe armrests and $10 each for the front ones. Look elsewhere. Even if its rare it shouldnt cost that much.

Could you post a pic of what shade saddle brown is?

Daniel

Re: arm rests

Ebay always has re-co steering wheels for auction ranging from about 250 to some stupid prices for 'GT' ones. There is someone in Coburg who restores them, but cant find the number! got a quote a few months ago for mine and they were charging about $500!!!! Saw an off the shelf wooden 'Super Cheap Auto' installed in a coupe and it wasnt too bad. $89.00

Re: arm rests

I'd like to keep my original wheel if I can. Just gotta find someone to remould it. The mob that qouted to do my armrests qouted me an additional $240 to remould my wheel. I still reckon it's too exy. If there's anyone in QLD, Brissy area that does this stuff, please let me know who they are.

Dan,

I'm curious... did you get yours completely re-made? or just recoloured?

Re: arm rests

No I searched all over the place to find my interior in original black. the front armrests are from Melbourne and the rear ones came from Sydney i think. Recoulouring works well also ive heard. You just need to clean the vinyl well with bleach or the dye wont adhere.

Ahh ok. The $96 + each is how much it costs to completely remake them with new foam and mouldings, in the original colour.

In that case i retract my previous comment. That is pretty good. Where are you getting that done?

"I need white arm rests if anyone has them."

I have a pair of front armrests which are white if your interested. I also have a pair of rear ones (coupe) taht i'm not too keen on parting with but i'm open to offers.

Daniel.
