cool AU FALCON Query

Hey all,

Im thinking about getting an au2 falcon and putting a te50/ts50 kit on it. What im wanting to know is how much an au2 would be worth and what should i look out for when buying one?! engine probs or faults etc?

An au3 could be out of my reach pricewise with what im wanting..

Also where would i pick up one of these kits in Brisbane and how much are they worth.. Genuine and not genuine prices if anyone knows as id really like it but im sorta new to the ford scene as i own a holden.

No im not biased either way haha.

But yeah if someone could help me out that would be great . im talking about the kit in the pic below

thanks all,

fat :)

Re: AU FALCON Query

Try C2R as they make a kit for this cars. As for probem with the AU just try to find one with low kms & a service histroy. Just shop around their are goods with low kms around.

Re: AU FALCON Query

Well if you wanted to buy the original kit from Ford it would cost in excess of around $10k. Try www.awcinfo.com or do a search on bodykits.com.au.

Re: AU FALCON Query

All up, fiberglass bodykit, 18" wheels, lowering, exhaust... You looking at an easy 6 grand just there.

Also AWC, is your best place for the kit as I haven't seen any other place with lower prices than them!

Re: AU FALCON Query

Why not spend the $6k for the bodykit on the engine instead?

Agreed! I love the "wolf in sheeps clothing" effect some Falcons have going. Nothing like seeing a riced up piece of crud being blown away at the lights by what "looks" like a stock Forte or XT but clearly isnt!

Re: AU FALCON Query

Hmm i thought about it but i want to start wiith the cosmetics and basic engine mods first. Only 19 so i dont need power right now and the standard motor with cold air, extractors and exhaust with a tune should be more than enough to keep me happy for a while..

Whats the difference with say a c2r kit and what its made out of as opposed to a kit from AWC?

Re: AU FALCON Query

C2R is a plaste type kit which is like what bumper bars on the newer cars plus all the new cars body add ons are made of this stuff. The AWC is kit for the T3 are fibreglass. Both are light weight & strong but i been told that plaste one are hard to get a paint match, but will take a knox better then fibreglass that will crack. But it up to you how much you want to send & which kit you like the look of.

Re: AU FALCON Query

thats a fair point. thats why im sorta leaning towards c2r kit when i get the car... although that paint thing you mention is interesting. yeah c2r kits are made from polyurethane and they are hard wearing

i saw on their website they have this thing called the bend test where he got part of the kit and due to its impact resistant properties it could bend around on itself. would be good because if i tapped a gutter cos the car was too low it wouldnt crack like a fibreglass one would.
