Hi when i switch on my Econ button when cruisin it lights up on the dash display but i'm not noticing any change in revs like my older fairmont. Is this normal ?? it is a 99 Falcon AU Forte

Yes it is. The Power/Economy button is not designed to do anything but tell the PCM to hold onto the gears for longer before upshifting. THe switch works opposite from EF onwards, as it lights up when you select Econ rather than Power like it did on EB-ED. Still, the adaptive software for the gearbox wasn't properly resolved until AU, and up until then flicking the switch at speeds around 70 km/h will result in the car kicking down a gear. From AU onwards the car will wait for throttle input before kicking down a gear (or 2 if you press it hard enough). cheers
