Hi All

I recently went to the government motor vehicles auction in Darwin to look for a used AU II fairmont ghia's.

There was one there in very good condition, 23000kms, with leather seats. I don't think it had any options.

Anyway, I didn't have my finance ready and hence couldn't bid but it went for $24k. Having looked through the auction history it seems most of them go for approximately this price.

I am looking at getting the next one that comes up. Is $24k a good price?

Paid $25300 back in march for a Au2 Ghia at Fowles in Melbourne. It had done 43,000k's was 14 months old and presented as new.
Was happy with the price at the time, but I would expect to pay around $24000 for the same vehicle today.

24K sounds like great value for a ghia with all the luxury kit.

We paid 23k for ours with premium sound and partial leather seats this was about a year ago.
I think the yards are selling them for around a bit more than that today.

That is about the price they are going for.
I was offered $22k trade in.
This is why I still have mine rather than trading it in on the GTP.
It makes a great second car, you know, for driving in the bush or on the beach or leaving out on the street down town when I go out on the turps

P.S. the VCT go very well and use bugger all petrol if you run them on 98RON
