Here they Finally are for anyone who cares, sorry about the wait.
still not finished though, just plugged in the dash, didn't start guessing something to do with the inhibitor switch and my wipers don't auto park, apart from that its looking very promising

looks very nice..
i agree with EB2 .. the clearance looks tight.. Why don't you cut the tube either side of the sump and bring it forward an inch? Would of saved grinding off the aluminium braces off the sump and given you more clearance
I 'm not being negative just a sugestion,, you've put alot of work into it and i hope it goes as well as you hope
Thanks for that great photo of the sump and the crossmember. I will difinately be cutting the bar and welding it 1' forward (its a simple job and quicker than grinding the sump in my opinion). The EA engine mounts do flex. I had a minor front end prang once and the engine fan hit the radiator. The mounts were stuffed but nevertheless its too close for my comfort.
yep my point exactly.. 2 quick hacksaw cuts .. 2*50mm of flat bar to step it out around the sump then weld the 'cut' section back in onto the ends of the bar.. and quick weld back onto your existing tube then you have ample clearance around the sump...
nah, that picture is a little decieving anyways. not to mention my mounts look like they are a little bent, because the owner before me hit the back of someone.
I didn't want to sacrifice the rigidity of the front end by welding and cutting not to mention that it would make engineers alot harder. if i get one.
if it does rattle something will have to be done though.
Does anyone know if the starter motor relays are different for AU's?
I can't get my starter to crank by the key even though there is 12 volts across the terminals when the key is turned. I have tried lotsa relays, the only thing I can think is maybe they are a different sort for AU starters rather than everything else.
anyhow its annoying!
p.s. it hasn't run yet

Unfortunately not, can't get any now as it's on the shed floor waiting for a rebuild
Hey SVO, the starter tag is plugged in, isn't it....? :) Yeh probably. Can you hotwire it with a jump lead?
The sump won't rattle, looks like you ground it down a shitload more than I did, and I never had a drama
