Started friday night, driving by sat lunchtime.
the car was a 88 ea 3speed mpi, had done 280,000
The new motor is an au short block, with ef head and cam, with blasted au rocker cover.
We were using the ea bolt ons, the air con pump mounting blocks needed grinding down to allow the alloy bracket to sit flush with block.
the alternator was a prick lots of grinding was required and one hole needed to be drilled .
eb water pump was fitted 2.
To fit the ea harmonic balancer on, you need to hit the front of the motor with a 4 inch grinder for ages. where the 2 front bolts on the sump go up u basicly need to grind trhe sump face down till these are exposed this allowes the balancer to fit without hitting the sump or the front cover.
+++EA fly wheel bolts wont fit they are to long u need to use au flywheel bolts.
You also need to hit the front tube in the k frame with a hammer just to give a few extra mm of clearnace. you also need to gring the front of the sump down flat to clear the bar.
motor goes great heaps better then the 3.9..
sorry bout the shit picks
