I have change the spark plugs, leads, and checked all conections regarding fuel, air, spark etc. I am out of ideas and was wondering if any one might be able to help me.

Re: AU stalling when starting cold

my au does the same thing, but when its warm its fine. i suspect its the winter weather, being colder the oil is thicker and its harder for the engine components to work, so it stalls. when i start mine the engine works then it struggles and revs begin to drop, then goes below idle and stalls. but if i start it and give it some revs for a few second its fine. wats the cars idle like when its warm? do u get any misses?

Re: AU stalling when starting cold

Check the throttle butterfly,, they get wet carbon build up there... there will be no air getting past, this is with butterfly shut. Factory clean, there will allways be air getting through there. But now carbon blocking, hence low ,. too low Idle when cold, can't handle the xtra fuel at cold starts. Just remove pipe off so you can clean with wet rag soaked in petrol, give a good clean,, you'll see the shit trapped in there and clean the edging of butterfly too. This is a comon fault I've found on the cars I work on for a living.
