Evening everybody.

I am in the market for a new car and I have been looking at AU2 XR6's....but I wanted to know what extra do you get in the VCT model? I know that you get the independent rear suspention and an extra 8kw (how is this achieved by the way) but is there anything else???

better interior goodies such as full power windows, better sound, thats about it. And an engine with a bit of potential but a bitch to get mods right on. This I know from hard reality. Oh, and basically NO aftermarket cam choices. If you want everyday cruiser thats reasonably quick and sticks stunningly well to the road, get the VCT. If you want to go crazy with engine mods, get the HP.

The extra 8kw is from the variable cam and a superior stock exhaust. Its not worth that much but the torque is significantly better after a few mods.

why can't you change the cam?? if I get one I will mod it but I want the independent rear sus - well I think I do - just nice to drive.

Well, there is only 1 aftermarket cam for the VCT. It's a JMM cam that, with everything else done to the engine, will make a total of 8rwkw more than the stock cam. Hardly worth it.

Well Ive got a XR6VCT and my dads got a XR6HP. The HP is only slightley quicker. But the handling of the VCT s***s all over the HP!!! You can have alot of fun with the IRS it just doesnt let go! Plus its got all power windows etc like Casper said.

Id go the VCT :)

The VCT can be pumped up to about 140rwkw without too much trouble, after that it gets a bit more expensive.

If ur concerned over feeling every little bump in the road, take the VCT. My HP has a pretty rough ride. Handling wise I love it but after driving a fairmont before(or even comparing it to my brother's EB GLI) its hard.

thanks for the input guys I do have my heart set on the VCT - I will just have to work arround the mods (go for the turbo for some high rwkw's or just be satisfied with the standard power).

The VCT is a great car, and even stock it isnt slow. I love mine, regardless of if it is as fast as some or not. The handleing alone is worth every kg of extra weight!

yep have to agree there ive got an AU Fairmint Ghia with a VCT and IRS and id have to say corners are serious fun... but yes they can be a bit rough on the road but what can ya do.... ya can't have it all.. go for it
