Does anyone who owns one, or just know someone who does, have any times? Prefferably stock times but if not please list the modifications. Howe do they compare to manuals? Which are quicker?

I know MOTOR ran a manual doing around 14.6 for the 400m from memory. Sorry, can not help you with the auto time, however I would put money on it that it was a little slower.
Yeah I know Motor's time of 14.58. I would have though that auto would be slightly quicker? Auto's always seem to be a little quicker in a drag. Or maybe it just comes down to your driving ability?

Really depend's on the driver you would think an auto would be quicker but some time's this is not the case, manual's will have more power at the rear's to use but gear changes will be slower than an auto, with the same driver in both car's and a bit of practise my money would be on the manual.but it really come's down to the driver ability.

From reading a few comparisons and times of XR's over the years it's fair to say to allow about 0.4-0.5 a sec for both 0-100km/h and 1/4 miles in an auto equivalent.
Here are the details of a manual late series AUII XR8 220kw. (Taken from the Sep 2001 Wheels Mag):

Auto is only quicker over the 400m's in most cases when set up correctly i.e. short diff gearing, auto shift kit and a high stall converter. In this form based on the same engine output the manual won't touch it. In stock form however, the manual normally is the faster devise, generally speaking of course.
