AUIII XR8 J3 chip

Hey! I want to get a 2031 cam insytalled and trying to figure out what this J3 chip is. Im confused, is it the same as the $595 dollar chip that the computer needs to be sent away for or is it a custom tune? Also do Herrod do these J3 chips? Last is the XEDE different from both? From my understanding there are 3 Chiptorque options.

The "J3" is the name of the service port on EEC IV/V computers. You can plug a chip into it to override the factory calibration with something different.

You can get a custom tune or an off-the-shelf tune using this. I beleive the $595, is for an off-the-shelf tune.

XEDE is completely different to the J3 Chip but also happens to be sold by Chiptorque.

The J3 chip is an edit (although limited in parametres it can adjust compared to SCT), and the XEDE is a piggyback unit.

Yes they do, got Herrod Centre in thomastown. Or New Oak FOrd in Oakleigh now have specialised on site (herrod) reps that can do it all. So there are a couple of options out there for you. Im in the process of getting my Herrod CHip looked at, as it is under-performing. All the best
