Be interesting to know who has the record for diff replacement in a ba falcon. I`m only on my third so fingers crossed this will be a good 1

If you're a fussy bugger I don't think you'll be stopping at 3. I had mine replaced because of a backlash problem (no whining though) and it started doing it again the next day. Now I just live with it, doesn't happen all the time but enough to annoy.

My understanding was that Ford were not replacing old for new, but rebuilding the olds and re-supplying them. I'm also convinced the guy setting the backlashes has 3 fingers, a dodgey eye and a single figure IQ.

I would be interested to hear if anybody has bitten the bullet and take their car to a specialist diff shop for a "proper" repair. If so, how much?

apparently this guy`s really good but 2 far away for me to see.www.malwoodauto.com.au. absolutely love the car som i`ll persevere till they get it right. helps if you have a really good dealer as well

I've spoken to a friend that has a Barra One Toner, he has diff whining noise. The dealer fixed it by using the correct Diff oil.

Yes I remember reading many months ago that a member took the diff to a specialist and had it set up perfect. I can't recall the price but I do recall that it seemed quite reasonable.
