After what seemed like a lot of talk about the BA fairlanes' not long after the BA's were realesed, it seems to me that the closer we get to the release date the less is said about them ?!?!
Does anyone know the official release date?
Anyone put an order in?
Pricing ?
Models / options ?? is there gunna be LTD?
Interior pics?
The car will officially be released on the 1st of July. I would assume full details on this car will be out in the next few weeks although they should have been on the ball releasing information earlier as its not like it will make an impact on current LWB sales doing so (If anything it might make potential Holden LWB buyers hold off their purchase)
well i saw one at the intersection out the front of the geelong station about a couple of weeks ago fully unmasked..i couldn't tell what it was but it had the G220 wheels so thats my guess...I thought it was just a fairmont ot begin with...
it was exactly the same as the one at the motorshow...i gave the guy in it a wave...he seemed pretty happy with himself

Advertised as $4000ono. Price is negiotable for a quick sale.
Dont hold your breath for advertising in the run up to July, even on TV there hasnt been a SINGLE ad for the new XRs or even THE BLOODY GTs. Fords PR department are utterly hopeless.
You would think the XR6T would be a big advertisement centerpiece, but NOOOO. What do they do instead? They stick it in an ad for a bloody Focus*!

<smashes head against wall>
*The Forcus is a great car, but puh-leeez!
I don't think Ford should advertise products that are already in high demand, putting advertising dollars into cars that aren't doing well is a better move, eg. Focus, Escape, Explorer, Fairlane...
Agreed, advertising the XR6-T would be a waste of time because of the demand, same with GT... how long are people waiting now?
Thats pretty basic PR schooling there!!
I guess what they could so is make an ad for the whole ford range, just to boost the image of ford as a whole.... meh...

That is a top idea, boost the overall popularity of Ford as a whole, without pointing out a specific model. It wouldnt hurt for the long term, building an image in the public that FORD is the brand to get.
Things like race wins only adds to the brand image, which in turn makes more sales across the range.

NOT advertising the vehicles is a basic PR mistake.
What will Ford do once all the fanboys have (finally) got their new car (remember, a very large portion of private buyers buying new Falcons are people who were in the market for a new Ford 4 years ago but felt physically ill at the appearance of the AU).
Ford will have had excellent sales for 6 months then sod all once everyone who was hanging out for a decent Falcon already has theirs.
No, they MUST continue to advertise to the public.

They did that ages ago with those "we have ignition" ads, they had an XR8 getting struck by lightning and a Mustang with a horse, and some other car.
Im sure someone else could remember it
