I wouldnt think it would take all that long maybe in the next 5 or so months maybe less. Most companies turn over there cars pretty quick these days. 1 year is not uncommon.

That XR6 up there ^^^ it says its $36K before auction, what sort of price can it go for on the day? I mean, can it possibly go for something stupid like $15K if there was no one who wanted it and some lucky prick bidded the lowest amount?
Or is there some sort of reserve, like say $25K and if it doesn't meet that then you can't have it??
I was actually warned away from those auctions yesterday by a dealer. Admittedly, his advice might be biased but then again, I had just bought a car off of him so it's not like he was trying to sell me anything.
He reckons that for the low end cars, the ones at the auctions are to be avoided at all costs as they are the trade-in cast-offs of dealers.
He also said that all but the government fleet vehicles have already been picked over by dealers well before they've gone to the auction houses, so everything that makes it to auction is crud.
He also reckons that if you shop around, you can get just as good a deal, if not better, from a dealer. The exception being the government cars which apparently go straight to the auction houses.

Car dealers " reckon " a lot of things - and most of it is crap . I'll tell you now nearly ALL car dealers buy a good many of their cars from auctions-there are LOTS of dealers who in fact buy ALL their stock at auction - the salesman you were talking to was full of it .
