BA GPS Sat NAV Volume too low

Has anyone found the GPS SAT NAV (the computer mapping device which is optional in falcons / fairmonts for BA Series) too low when you have the radio on? I can't hear mine speak when I'm on the freeway and the radio or CD is playing. I'll be talking to ford about it next week.

XR Cam, Yes its way to low. Fine if you are sitting there with the car off but once you get some road noise its not worth being on.

have you turned up the volume on the Sat nav. or can't you do that on the new version. I'll just go and have a look on one of the new XR8's with this feature.

just went for a drive but it doesn't have a map for the proving ground so I couldn't realy test it. Sorry!! It should get louder with the radio like the old model!!!

SAT NAV Volume

The volume is adjustable on the SAT NAV and it is already up to the MAX.

Yes it goes up to 7 and that is not very loud at all. A terrible flaw if you ask me.

After contacting Ford, they have contact me back this morning and said there is a fix for it. I'm very impressed with their promptness.

If anyone has this problem with their new BA Sat NAV, just pop into their local dealer for the fix. :)

Good to see they will sort it out promptly for you.

My handbrake in the passenger seat with a UBD map at hand goes up to 11 in volume. Unfortunately no update is available.

Yep

Can confirm that there is no update for this well known problem, but I do beleive if one increases speed into a turn each time you find the HBsatnav is having a glich, it will cause a short in the ciruit and this rectify the problem!
