Hey,
Does anyone know what would win down the quarter with a BA GT against a Manaro CV8. My friend reckons the Manaro will kill it but i rekon we got another 45kW against it.
The BA GTs quarter is 13.98 according to Motor Magazine but it doesnt list the Manaros.

Depends on if Holden supply the "normal" press fleet engined cars or the showroom stock engined cars.

My money is on both, I think they would be very close that it doesn't matter who won,just because a magazine can quote a time doesn't mean that car will do it,and constantly all day at that,tell your mate to grow up and respect both machine's because they are both awsome vehicle's, put a good driver in both and you will see the real potential out of these vehicle's, but remember straight line speed is not the be all and end all.

It'd be a pretty even race, but hardly a fair comparison, both power and price wise.
The GT has 45kW and +$15k on the CV8. A more "even" competitor would be the clubsport R8 which can run ( without thrashing the crap out of it ) a 13.5 in auto.
The BA is carrying a 150kg - 200kg penalty that is tough to over-come.

i think this is a weird match cause of the simple fact of 2 door to 4 door and the monaros r just crap now, just another car etc where as there isnt as many gt's and they look better and they dont have the same motor as the base model ss has

Don't state oppinions as facts. I think either way, you would be happy with the performance, its just down to which car, you prefer the look of, and enjoy driving the most - for me that would be a tough decission. Yes the idea of a 2 door coupe is not new, but neither is the idea of a 4 door sedan. Just get what you want and forget about a 0.3333 second time difference

Again you are talking press cars, I have seen several HSV's in stock form at WISD and non of them have gotten better than 14.1.

Its my mates car, bog stock. It might be a freak engine though, but I can tell you from being in the passenger seat it is quick!

Thats right according to motor the monaro is 57,850 the GT 59,850 only two grand diffence i know which one i would buy
