yer i know: SLOW,
Thats why i spoke to Geoff and begged him for a 5.4 auto Wagon, but my friends no go, we must be happy with a six, and what 182 Kw is supposed to scare me

i didnt think about the wagon being lighter than the sedan...
i think launching would be less of a problem with 182kw in an auto than dragging that massive amount of weight down the quarter after you get it off the line!!
i wasnt going to say this but the other night i was driving home at like 3 in the morning and a white BA wagon with two guys about my age came up alongside me and wanted to race, they were good blokes so i obliged them and we drove to willowbank raceway for a few runs ( ) we had many races, from standing starts, 60 and 80km/h rolling starts etc, and my car was a lttle quicker than them.
i dont know how much fuel they had on board but i was on about 1/4 tank, and i figure that my stereo makes up a little of the weight of the passenger in the other car (my guess is i have about 50kg of stereo stuff in my car...) and they only had 1000k on the clock, so their (company :s4) car would still be a bit tight. i have 130,000km on my manual 1992 XR6.
they had no traction problems off the line, it just went (sounded great too, very technical and nice sounding engine noises from under the bonnet!!!!)
so i wanted to know how fast a BA wagon is so i can guess what my quarter mile time would be, i would say only 1 or 2 tenths faster - the answer will either make me happy (sub 16 sec...) or sad (over 16 sec...)
thanks for your help.

Just dug up some specs and a Barra XT Wagon weighs in at 1674kg which is 20kg lighter than the sedan sister.
So technically down the track the wagon will be abit quicker if launching is right.
