Went down to Fowles today to check out the cars i'd never be able to buy and had a look at the BA's, AU's and VY's.
Well is it just me or is the interior in the BA's bloody ugly??! Seriously it looks like a chimp choose the two-tone interior colours, and the door plastic feels rough. Then you have the roof, which kinda reminds me of the roof material from my bro's old '69 Valiant Charger. The centre console is so massive you have to wonder whether there is a keg hiding behind it.
The worse thing is, the AU and VY interior is heaps nicer! I would suspect Ford would lose a lot of customers from the poor interior trim(i certainly wouldn't buy it in standard spec), so i hope they fix it in BA II.
love the layout of the whole car inside and out...Fords sales are sky high 3000 more cars than last year already BA sedan sales had a record month and just had the best June on record, so something is being done right with the BA..
I like the interior.. and what's this got to do with e-series anyway?
Nothing really... oh except i'm a E-series driver, and great minds think alike!
The Black AU3 interior is really nice, and so is the VY interior minus the squarish centre console. Seriously next time you are in a BA check out the door trims and look especially hard at the roof fabric... it's that old style vinyl stuff with the holes in it, i swear!

i have a BA ute, no Vinyl with holes on my interior roof..
OK judging my Old mans BA XT wagon (e-gas but that is irralevant (sp)) Vs his old Series 1 update AU wagon. The AU wins hands down. The plastic quality is much better and the whole cabin feels more inviting. This is Forte V XT. The BA sterio is better though. Alsdo i agree about the roof lining, the roof of my EA GL is probably nicer than the BA. This is my opinion on 2 base model Falcons..
I don't mind the BA interior, but IMO all base model interiors (E-series, AU and BA) look a bit cheap, but thats what you would expect with base models. Haven't seen a BA Fairmont interior but the XR interior is very nice and the GT is just awesome.
I think Holden dropped the ball with the VY interior, and that huge black piece of plastic on the rear of the SS, what the hell were they smoking when they designed that.
The XR interior is very nice I thought, the blue instruments are wicked.
E-Series interior, with the dash in particular is very flat and vertical, where the BA has a nice kind of curved shape, it doesn't just shoot up and then level off to meet the windscreen, it slowly curves up towards it and makes the curve part of the dash. I love it, but I love my interior as well.
Commos are too sqaure and bulky I think, although the Monaro is nice, VX model that is, VY is crape!
