Re: BA interior = bloody ugly?

I don't know why there is such a pre-occupation with the roof lining. Doesn't bother me at all what the roof of it looks like, I don't look at the roof when I'm in a car...and judge it by that.

I love the interior of the BA. It is functional, has that "Euro" look and of the ones I have been in I haven't noticed any bad fit and finish issues. I think the design is a lot cleaner and more likeable than the AU or VY models which are plain and dated respectively.

Re: BA interior = bloody ugly?

yer the BA dash "flows" type thing yes the plastics are a lil cheap looking but nothing a bit of dash and trim conditioning carnt fix works a treat, and for the for the roof mmm never really payed much attention to it, and for the AU, mmm i have had loan cars of the AU SR mmm the dash and all its controls are type circle, but looks alright,
but i think the dash looks plain if you have the stock sound system i dont like that lil screen,

Re: BA interior = bloody ugly?

the ba interior is the only dissapointing thing about the car. The intrusment lighting on the xrs is mad though.

Like most of these things it's a matter of personal choice, I think the BA interiors are light years ahead of anything to date but it surely isn't going to please everyone.

Re: BA interior = bloody ugly?

This has to be a troll! I LOVE the BA interior! One of the main things I hated about the AU was that god awful interior. The exterior looked Ok and anyway, i dont have to look at it when im driving, but that interior made me shudder and THAT what I have to live with

Sorry, but i just couldnt take round pod centre console, the small cheap looking LED clock, the crappy buttons and controls. The AU dash always looked to me like it was stolen froma small car and just filled in with plastic to fit the bigger car. The Prndl looked too small for a big car dash as did the glove box area and trim. Somehow it just didnt look right.

The whole thing was a mess to my eyes, but I think the BA dash is stunningly attractive. The worst thing about the BA dash is the hard ridge on the standard steering wheel hurts my hand a bit on long drives.

Re: BA interior = bloody ugly?

I reckon the interior on the BA is very nice. The base models are ok but the higher series and XR models interiors rock.

Re: BA interior = bloody ugly?

Bring back the XM interior.

Nothing simpler than a 3 instrument dash with lots of flat, hard, metal surfaces in body colour and lots of chrome highlights. The radio with it's two big knobs, one speaker and pushbuttons (in the Deluxe version); was simple to use and provided adequate sound. The three on the tree was close at hand, behind the large diameter thin rimmed steering wheel which allowed fast changes and plenty of wheel leverage for getting around corners.

Let's not forget the sheer luxury of leather look grained vinyl on the bench seat - so perfectly contoured to the shape of a park bench and invitingly warm after a few hours in the sun.

... aah the good old days.

E-Series interior, with the dash in particular is very flat and vertical, where the BA has a nice kind of curved shape, it doesn't just shoot up and then level off to meet the windscreen, it slowly curves up towards it and makes the curve part of the dash. I love it, but I love my interior as well.

Commos are too sqaure and bulky I think, although the Monaro is nice, VX model that is, VY is crape!
Is it just me or does anyone else see the irony in a person called GLOCK shitcanning big pieces of plastic and things that are too square....
