G'day,

Have seen a few BA Falcon general purpose police cars, marked and unmarked here in Melbourne, I was stunned when the unmarked car I saw had no incremented cluster as every other police car I'd seen in the past, is VDO still working on a 2km/h incremented dash or do the BA police cars just not have any?

I couldn't believe it, it was an unmarked car though but it still had red/blue rectangle lights in the rear parcel tray.

saw a XR police car in sydney, along homebush bay drive.
not sure if it was a 6 or 8

The BA Police Pack has a digital speedo readout in the instrument cluster, which is used for an accurate readout.

I have photos of an unmarked XR6 Turbo on my site now and unmarked XR8 photos from the VicPol open day last week coming soon.

That's fairly stupid still though, the EF/EL police clusters had digital readouts too, the BA cluster could have at least had that 'ring' police look and add a few lines between increments.

They should have had EA ghia clusters in EA police cars years ago if they thought digital is police-usable.

Saw an NA XR6 in full police trim in Canberra last Friday. It looked unreal.

talking to a coppa freind of mine a few days ago she was saying the BA's doesnt take that much for the undercarriage to bottom out, as opposed to the AU's and VY's shes driven so far.

All BA falcon instrument clusters can be set so you have a digital speedo in conjunction with the analogue one.That way it save's the cost of manufacturing an exclusive speedo for only police vehicles.(when you drive them it's surprising the difference between the 2 readings.)

AP, All you need is a WDS and a Tech who knows how to reconfigure your instrument cluster.As for the difference between the 2 readings,well you can adjust that too.
