Ba Proformance Upgrades

After seeing a new ba XR6T do a best time of 14.1 out at calder raceway in full trim it's a bit dissapointing.

When we first heard 240kws in the new ford we thought it sounded dame fast , but really it isn't when you look at imported nissan skylines do 14's flat and cost nealy half the price than a ba ford XR6T fitted with a few options, maybe for the ones that haven't had many fast cars in there life and don't feel the need for speed this to them is a good thing.

So to me i think performance mod's.

Simple questions

1) What mod's are you planing.

2) What are some of the things you guy's and girls already done.

3) Cost and who did it for you.

4) Does it affect warranty.

5) What are the gains, kw's, tourqe or drag times.

Speaking freely and adding your input would be great.

PS. pitures would be great if any.

I have already had the exhaust straight through done and the air filter changed.. Im waiting to see what other car companies have come up with before doing any more mods..

Cost roughtly $2700 for the change.. yes it did affect warranty.. KW and Torque increase has not been measured on my car so im not sure..

That's quicker than a Phase III GTHO, not too shabby in my books!

Correct, we are.
Consequently we have a car that is heavier, safer and more fuel efficient than the HO could ever dream of being.

I'm sorry to hear that you are disappointed in a large four door family sedan that can run around the 14 second quarter - there still aren't very many in the world that can better that time and none that can be bought for that sort of money new.

Still if you want to go harder and aren't fussed by warranty issues then there is a whole list of things you can do to improve it - including all those on your list.

Will be interested to see the result.

Cheers

One thing we all have to remember is that Ford did not release the XR6T nor the XR8 with one thing in mind quarter mile drags, These cars appeal to us who wish to go fast but in the end of the day the Falcon has allways been a large car suited to the family type wanting room comfort and style and The XR versions just have that little bit extra and when it comes to everyday use you cant go past these vechiles.

ATESSA, to be fair 14.1 is still a pretty good time for a big sedan. Remember the XR6T has a maximum boost of 6psi between 2500-4500 after which it tails of to almost nothing at redline. So the potential is there.

Not bad for an old lump of inline 6.

Skylines do not do flat 14's stock, they do high 14's low 15's depending on driver ability, the XR6T will hose a standard skyline. It has bucket loads of potential, i really think there is nothing to complain about.
