Has anyone else noticed that the 3 yr redbook resale values listed at the back of Wheels Magazine for June have taken a huge jump over their May equivalents?

The VY and the BA both had considerable changes - all other cars by other makers and indeed the same maker stayed the same.

Have Wheels gone troppo? Were the previous values just a guestimate? Or has Redbook managed to collect more data to re-evaluate statistics?

The XR8, for example, has gone from 56% to 65%. The XT from 52% to 58%. But a VY Executive has gone from 52% to 60%. (All Manual BTW)

So if this is all true, then Mr Polites claims that the BA has better resale than the VY appear to be wrong.

Yep, its simple logic really.

There is a shortage of BAs (any version) and they're still at nearly full price at the dealers. The market is flooded with VYs and their prices are being slashed like crazy.

It's technically impossible for the Commodore to have a higher resale value. (The AUs wouldnt have a large enough effect as whats been seen in these 'figures')
