Hey All,

Just wondering if anyone can confirm when Ford will actually stop producing the BA Series I and start on the production of the Series II. I thought this would happen around a month or two before the release of the Series II (Oct 04).
Anyone got any ideas or have mates that work within Ford that would know

I read in the press that the first Mk2 jobs were on October 1, but have recently heard that it's actually around mid September...

Which means with some models they're probably allocating the first of the Mk2 stock already (if the mid-September date is true).

I'd say that given the minimal changes, there will be no stop as such. Just at some point the next car in line will be a MkII and all relevant changes from the car onwards will be made. Sort of seemless I imagine. Well sort of.

I saw a truck full of mk2 ba falcons & XRs on monday so there all ready started, I did notice the XRs have different wheels other than that never had time to see much else..

Yeah this is correct, MKII vehicles will be hitting the roads to unsuspecting buyers - however they will be badged and VIN'd as MKI vehicles.

I bought my AUII right on the cusp, I got the AUII free servicing to 60,000 but the AUIII body kits (side skirts, and colour coded mirrors) and AUIII parts.

45,000km service coming up - and i'll be asking for a sizable list of fixes:
* Gearbox (3rd time)
* Steering click (5th time)
* Brake Shudder (2nd time, and has the applied "Fix")
* etc...

Does that mean that if you time your order right a BA XR8/XR6T M5 could be delivered as an M6 including all the suspension tweeks (on XR8)?....Now that would be a lucky buyer if they paid current prices.

there seriously not going to have a MKII badge on them are they?? stick with what every one is used to and thats SERIES 2.
MKII makes it sound like some old toyota coupe or something.

I wanna know what happens in 12 months if I blow up my T5, will they replace it with a T56 and diff to 3.73. That would be nice.

Now that Ford knows what will happen to your car and when, I'm sure they'll keep one T5 at the back of Campbellfield so that it stays all original.
