Just looking to get a rough idea of how economical it would be to run a BA V8 XLS ute as a daily driver. I live a half hour away from work, 90% of that drive is country driving and I have to go over and back, so thats around 1hr of travelling time a day.
Are there any BA V8 owners who travel a similar distance? If so, roughly how much are you paying for your week's worth of fuel, and what are you putting in - ULP or PULP?
I drive a BA XR8 manual, On any sort of freeway driving I get approx 11 - 12 L/100k's. Peak hour I get about 17L/100k's. On average the tank gets 400 - 420 for 60 litres approx and that is using pulp. (when the wife drives it it gets alot better economy for some reason) I use this as my works car so I do anything from 400 - 800 k's a week.
i do "spiritted" surburban driving... average around 18.5L/100kms...
I've reset the ECM a couple of times and on all occasions it sits around 18.5L/100 so I'll take it to be fairly accurate.

since this topic was brought up i had another look at the average indicator... 18.9L/100kms :o)
I only do about 350kms a week so fuel bill isn't really a concern to me.
So far I've done 7000kms....I've been told the fuel bill will ease off a bit after the 10,000kms run in period. I don't expect it to....

On trips sitting on 110kph, I'm averaging about 12ltr/100klms.
Around town and driving to work (20klms) The computer says I'm averaging 19.5ltr/100kms. But I drive this car like I stole it. If I wanted fuel economy...I would of bought a mirage or something!!!!!!
