Re: BA V8 owners, what are your fuel bills like?

I only use Std Unleaded. Reasonably spirited driving. Manual XR8 Sedan. About 24000km. On a trip to Melbourne on cruise nearly all the way, the whole-trip average was about 11.5L/100. Daily commute - 30km to work, 30km home, mixed city/cruise driving - not highway speeds (max about 95 to 100km sections). Relaxed driving see's me average 12.5. Sprited driving sees me average 14.5.

My total weekly spend on fuel, doing about 400-500km per week, is between $50 and $60. This goes up and down of course, depending on where I have to travel for work (it is a work car after all - thank goodness for ABN discounts!), but that's a fair average.

Re: BA V8 owners, what are your fuel bills like?

Both BA XR8 & G220 have similar fuel figures, have to agree though, if I wanted economy a Focus would have been on my list!!

Cheers

Does anyone have a Barra 220 (non XR) V8? If so, are your figures about the same/better/worse? The non XR V8 is the one i'm really concentrating on atm.

Re: BA V8 owners, what are your fuel bills like?

Ive had my BAXTV8 manual for around 18months now with a avg out in the bush of around 11lit per 100km sitting on 140kmph, the city (Perth) 16.9lit.
If i keep the rev's around town under 2500rpm and just use the torque of the big V8 she will drop to 14lit per 100km.

G220 - as above. It's pretty filthy. Especially as petrol has just hit 106cents per litre. If you're paying for it :)

I'm getting 14.3 lt/100 km 491 km per tank, driving up the freeway and into Perth central most days.

Re: BA V8 owners, what are your fuel bills like?

I know this is of topic, but my NA 4.0 litre can't get better than 11.5 country, and 15 around town. Go the V8 if thats all the difference is.

Re: BA V8 owners, what are your fuel bills like?

16.5 l / 100km is my average and really only get to drive around town. Last long distance trip it averaged 11.5 over the weekend including both times through Sydney and some driving around. I could definately do a bit better if 2nd gear didnt get taken to 80 all the time.
