Hey all
I'm going to be buying a new car but I can't decide what to get. The BA falcon has slightly less power and uses more fuel but what I'm after is preformance in a straight line. Now I can't get a turbo or a V8 and I'm not likely to do many mods so I ask this question.
From a stock point of view will there be much difference in acceleration, say 0-100?
Also will the 6 speed automatic gear box outrun the 4 speed? (is it worth the extra dosh?)

I'm only going to get an automatic, manuals are ruled out!

If you can find a BF xr6 with the 6sp auto is what you want. Besides being a lot more refined then the POS 4 speed, the BF will be quicker. Some journo's got 14.5 down the quarter. Also as the I6 has a better DVCT system it should see better results when modded. The only things to remember if you get a BF is the 6 Speed cannot be stalled up (unless you get an edit) and the cat cannot be changed unless you get an edit.

thanks for the reply ill try find a bf 6 speed but there quite hard to come by and are about $20,000 AU

Just wait one will turn up. Sterling Ford here in Melbourne had two sitting in their used car lot.
