Anyone else thought of this??

Had the new XR for a week now and was getting sick of seeing the boot lid frame everytime the boot was open.
I have seen Fairmont Ghias with a neat liner to hide this, so this afternoon a quick trip to ford to get one.

Fitted it in about 15mins and looks great. No more ugly frame.

For approx $60 it is a great little modifcation that tidies up the boot.

(PS. make sure you get the 14 clips to hold it in! Yep 14 of them)

Sorry but for a $55,000 car (XR8) I shouldn't have to go & pay $60 to get a damn boot liner. Must've been the same numbskull who removed the footrest that thought of this.

Little things like this really spoil what is a magnificent motor car. I hope these are rectified for BAII.

My EF XR6 had one standard. I think it was deleted on low series cars during the EL.

I dont have a problem with my bootlid at all, no frame to be seen.

The cost price of the materials would be fairly small, it's one of those "little things"

I can understand deleting it for the taxi pack and mayeb Forte/XT but going up from there would be a welcome addition.

I would imagine it's one of the many little things they do to reduce costs, along with the not engineering a footrest.

Love the way XRs are now treated as low series cars. What a joke. A $55k low series! I'd like to see that - better be off to the local Ford dealer then! lol.

I agree, and funily enough so did the parts guy at ford! Maybe some of the Ford head office guys should take note - Mr Polites??
